Well things are continuing to progress towards the Albany City Kart Club finally realising our goal of extending the track from its current layout of 592m to 935m, including what we expect to be one of the longest (and fastest) straights in WA. Obviously for this to occur, it cannot be completed without significant funding and I am pleased to report that the club remains financially healthy with recent funding injections being made.
In late July the club received a significant grant from the Department of Sport & Recreation, whilst we also received payment for our member’s efforts in delivering the Phone Books throughout Albany. With these funds now accounted for work can continue with some more minor earth works to occur in front of the club house following the August club run.
The loan from AKA is also moving forward with advice that our loan application is in order and we expect a positive response to the loan application by as early as next week.
Once this final hurdle has been cleared, all we need is for the weather to improve so we can get the contractors out to the track to finally lay the racing surface and kerbing.
The committee on behalf of all members wish to thank all those people who have helped us get to this point – without you it simply would not be possible.
